The classic Face Look

The classic face look has been inspired by old classic movies. It makes use of face flattering colors to get a timeless look. Some of the legendry actresses who are known to have sported this look are Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. This is also one of the most popular look for proms and late evening parties.

The classic look is supposed to enhance the features and adds on a beautiful charm to one’s personality. The classic make-up look takes more time to achieve than regular make-up. The best way to achieve this look is by working on smooth, well-toned skin to give it porcelain like looks.

Make-up tips for the classic face look:

The goal of this look is to achieve a velvety finish along with an arty blend. This type of make-up not only accentuates your features but makes you look remarkable mystical.

Foundation: Use a good vitamin based foundation that gives an extra coverage. The shade should be one that matches your skin tone most. Apply it with a damp sponge after first squeezing it out in a towel. Apply it above your eye lids and lips and blend it well under the chin. Dab it well on the neck and back of the neck. It is recommended to use a good quality liquid foundation or a cream foundation for the perfect matte finish.

Concealer: Apply a little concealer around your nose and under your eyes to camouflage any dark circles. Remember to press it in and blend it well with your skin. Try not to overdo the concealer.

Blusher: You must sweep on blusher high on your cheekbones in an upwards direction. Avoid sweeping it into the hairline. It is better to use a powder blusher rather than a cream blusher in order to get the perfect look.

Powder: You need to achieve a smooth finish and this can only be achieved pressing on plenty of fine loose powder all over the face and neck. You must use a good powder brush for dusting powder and brush off any excess powder with the help of the brush.

Eye shadow: Use two shades of semi-matte or matte eye shadow to dress up your eyes. You can also add your favorite moisturizer to the eye shadow for getting the perfect look. This helps enhance the shape of your eyes making them look larger and mysterious. It is recommended that you try using a paler shade on the lid and a deeper color towards the socket line.

Eye liner: Use a good eye liner on the lids. Black is the preferred color for the classic look. It is recommended that you use a liquid eye liner and not a pencil eye liner. Draw a line along the upper lashes and enhance it towards the middle.

Mascara: Use a black voluminous mascara to lengthen up the lashes. Work it well to enhance your lashes to emphasize your eyes. Don’t forget your eyebrows. You first need to do them with a brow pencil and then blend them with proper strokes using a foam smudger at the other end of the eye shadow applicator.

Lips: Outline your lips with a lip pencil that matches your lipstick. It is recommended that you use a classic shade such as cranberry or cherry to enhance your lips. Cappuccino or mahogany will also be great choices. With a little practice you can apply the lipstick perfectly. If you want your lip color to last longer apply the base foundation first. This serves as a protective covering. Powder your lips very lightly and outline your lips using a well sharpened lip pencil. For the upper lip, start from the centre and line outwards. For the lower lip, outline from side to side using a lip brush and proceed to fill in the color.

Last but not the least, it is recommended that you wear an evening dress with the classic face look in order to complete the look. This type of make-up is great for dinners and late night parties.
