The key to getting perfect smoky eyes lies in perfect blending. This technique leaves tremendous scope for experimentation with a wide range of colors for doing the eyes. The tick lies in blending them flawlessly to achieve that to die for hot and happening look. It is also important to team light base colors with rich dark ones in order to get a balanced look. The cosmetics industry nowadays is flooded with loads of neon colors such as flamingo pink, turquoise, acid green and electric blues that work well for creating a smoky look. Other great blends include soft golden bases with hues of purple and moss green, champagne silver with hues of bright blues and greens.

Getting the ultimate Smoky eyes look:

Prep your eyes with a concealer: To hide any traces of dark under eye circles, select a cosmetic under eye concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation. Place three dots of concealer under each eye. Start at the inner corner where the skin is darkest, on under the pupil and the third on the outer edge. Stroke the concealer with your ring finger until the dots disappear and blend into the skin. Generally, avoid concealers with oils as the oil tends to settle into the fine lines under your eyes and draws attention to the circles.

Apply eyeliner: Your choice of color would depend on the kind of look you are opting for. If you intend going in for the typical brown, black or grey smoky eyes, apply liner in one of those colors. Draw a line across the upper lid just above the lashes starting from the inner corner to the other. Remember, liquid liner needs to be applied in one smooth stroke. You can also go in for a pencil liner to achieve the intense smoked out effect. To get a dramatic sizzle you can go in for colors like violet, green, emerald finely blended with grays and kohls.

The key to getting that perfect smoky look lies in blending and smudging the color towards the bottom lashes. Use lighter eyeliner for adding color to the bottom of your eyes. You can also apply a bit of shadow to get that awesome smudged up effect. You need to pair up a lighter base with a darker hue. Use a light shimmer base for donning up the eyebrow line.

Eye shadow: Apply the eye shadow from the middle of the eyelid towards the outside. Use a darker color below the crease. Using a fine eye shadow applicator brush start at your base line and keep blending. Make sure to blend the color with the lash line so that the eye liner disappears.

Mascara: This gives the finishing effect to your smoky eyes. Use several coats of volumizing mascara in black or dark blue.
