Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, actress, dancer, model and fashion designer. Born on October 13, 1980 in Glen Cove, New York, Ashanti became popular when her debut album Ashanti featuring the hit song ‘Foolish’ won the Grammy Award 2002. The album sold 504,693 copies in its first week of release.
