Benicio del Toro is an actor who has won several awards that include Academy, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and British Academy of Film and Television Art (BAFTA). Born on February 19, 1967 in Miramar , Puerto Rico he is the son of lawyer parents.

His career in acting was just stumbled upon accidentally. After he completed his graduation, he went on to pursue a degree in business at the University of California , San Diego . But unexpectedly, he was inspired by an elective drama course. He dropped out of college and joined the acting class of noted teachers, Stella Adler and Arthur Mendoza in Los Angeles . It was at the Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York , that he whole heartedly dedicated himself to drama.

In the late 1980s, Toro began to act in small television series and most notably, Toro became popular after his cameo role in Madonna’s music video of ‘La Isla Bonita’. Later on, his popularity sky rocketed soon after his debut appearance in the James Bond 007 movie License to Kill. Successively, he appeared in various movies including The Indian Runner (1991), China Moon (1991), Christopher Columbus: The Discovery (1992), Money for Nothing (1993), Fearless (1993) and Swimming with Sharks (1994).

In 1995, Toro gained his momentum in movies with a breakout performance in The Usual Suspects. His outstanding performance in movies won him the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actor. For the 1998 film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Toro loaded more than 18 kg to play the character Dr Gonzo who is popularly known as Oscar Zeta Acosta. This surrealistic film has earned Toro a new image for his fantastic look. In this respect, Toro’s fashion sense blends well with his choice of hairstyles.
