Hilary Swank Hairstyles: Boyish but Attractive

Hilary Swank was born on July 30, 1974 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She is a two-time Academy Award-winning American actress. Her critically acclaimed role in Boys Don’t Cry brought her into popular circuits of Hollywood hall of fame. She has been widely recognized in the recent Academy Award-winning movie Million Dollar Baby directed by Clint Eastwood. Hilary Swank Hairstyles are gorgeous and stylish. This actress knows how to carry every hairdo with ease and elegance.

Swank’s film career began with a small part in Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1992. It was followed by her leading part in The Next Karate Kid in 1994 wherein she played Julie Pierce.

She’s daughter of Stephen Swank who was an officer in the Air National Guard. Her family hailed from Ringgold County, Iowa. Swank came from humble beginnings, particularly as a child growing up in a trailer park near Lake Samish in Bellingham, Washington. Swank describes herself as an ‘outsider’ who felt that she was just a bookworm and moviegoer. All these activities inspired her to become an actress.

When Swank was just nine years of age she made her first stage appearance starring in The Jungle Book. Subsequently she was involved in various school and community theater programs, including the Bellingham Theatre Guild. She attended Sehome High School in Bellingham until she was sixteen. She also competed in the Junior Olympics and the Washington state championships in swimming.

The Next Karate Kid (1994) was a film starring the famous Japanese actor Pat Morita. In September 1997, Swank appeared as single mother Carly Reynolds in Beverly Hills 90210. She was initially contracted for a two-year role. But her character was written out after 16 episodes in January 1998. She later thought that she was truncated from the show because she’s not good enough for the series.

All of a sudden, a lucky break for Swank turned up. She was auditioned for the role of Brandon Teena in Boys Don't Cry. For the ‘tomboy’ role in the movie Swank reduced her body fat to seven percent in preparation for the character. Obviously, her performance was singled out as well and her work ultimately won her the Golden Globe and Oscar for Best Actress. Swank, famous for her ‘tomboy’ characters in her award winning movies, looks attractive in feminine get ups as well. Hilary Swank Hairstyles are selective, sophisticated and sassy.

Popular Hilary Swank Hairstyles:

Smooth Style

At the Escada Grand Opening of the Beverly Hills Flagship Boutique, Swank sported a simple but stunning hairstyle. In the style, she trimmed her hair smooth and straight to enhance the look of her blunt ends. Her bangs were side swept to disguise in order to hide her high hairline. This style is suitable for those having longer face shapes.

Naturally Sexy

This is one of the most popular of Hilary Swank Hairstyles. This naturally sexy look is sported by this Million Dollar Baby star at most red carpet events. For the style, her tresses are cut with the length sitting left at her shoulder blades. To create this style her heavy layers are trimmed throughout the very ends. It adds lots of body and texture throughout the style. This hairstyle is one of the best options for a high forehead because the feathery bangs break up and soften the style around the face. This style also looks good on those with longer faces.

Wavy Cut

You can’t believe how good Swank looked in an amazing hairdo she sported at the 2006 Oscar Awards. Blended with wavy texture, her length was left below shoulder level in the style and the top portion as well as the sides was cut in short layers to create body around her face.

Pinned Back Design

Swank looked great in this simple yet elegant style at the 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. For creating this particular hairstyle, she trimmed her top section and the sides were pinned back into a soft shaped ponytail, which was simply sexy. The long side swept bangs were left out around her face in order to add body and definition.
