Upswept Braids for a dramatic look      Bookmark and Share

Braiding is a very old technique that seems to have originated in Africa. It is widely popular in contemporary times as almost everyone looks great in braids. The most common type of braid is the tree stranded braid which is also the simplest to do. Other types of braids include four stranded braids, five stranded braids, twelve stranded braids and so on. The difficulty level of a braid increases with the number of strands. But with regular practice, you can master the art of making every type of braid. Individuals with long to medium length hair look great in braids.

Upswept braids are different, because they are pinned to the crown of the hair. This hairstyle can be done for any formal occasion, be it an evening party, dinner or cocktail gathering.

How to make upswept braids:

  • The hair has to be brushed nicely to remove all the tangles.
  • Spray on some hairspray and add some hair gloss for that beautiful hair dazzle.
  • Very fine three stranded braids have to be made. For this, the right section has to be crossed over the middle section so that the original right section becomes the middle section and then the left section has to be crossed over the middle section so that the original left section becomes the middle section and so on.
  • Braiding has to be continued till the end is reached.
  • Now, the braids that are near the crown of the head have to be lifted up.
  • Once this has been done, they have to be twisted around.
  • To keep the braids in place, hairpins have to be used.
  • Now, the rest of the braids have to be lifted up.
  • Once this has been done, they have to be looped around the crown.
  • To keep the braids in place, hairpins have to be used.
  • This hairstyle can be made more glamorous by attaching a beautiful strip of sequins.

This hairstyle is the one of the best options for a perfect night-out. It only takes five to ten minutes to do if you already have the braids done. You need long hair for this style. The difficulty rating given to this is easy.
