Rollers

Man is the crown of creation and hair is known as his crowning glory. Healthy hair care begins withthe use of the right type of shampoos, conditioners, vitamins, treatments and hair styling products. These products reduce thinning, prevent brittle and oily hair and control damage from breaking, frizzing, coloring, stress, over heating etc. Beautiful hair is the body’s natural fashion accessory. It is an inseparable part of the face and adds to your good looks. Well maintained tresses enhance your personality and indicate your beauty and health. If you are fond of wavy hairstyles, you will certainly require rollers.

There are many ways by which one can curl their hair and one very popular method of curling hair is using rollers. There are many types of rollers both non heated and heated. All rollers vary in length and width. A wide diameter roller set gives a full and smooth curl. On the other hand, thin rollers give a tight and spiral-type curl.

If a person is using non heated rollers one should set their hair before taking a shower as the steam will help set the curls for a longer time. Make sure that the rollers are not tied too tightly because it could lead to hair loss.

Types of rollers

Velcro rollers: These rollers provide soft curls and fuller body. They can be used on either damp or dry hair. These are good choices for short or fine hair and hair that breaks easily, since they don't need to be clipped in place. If ones hair is long or thick one might need to use clips to keep these rollers in place.

Foam rollers: These rollers help in giving curls to fragile or brittle hair. Foam rollers are best used when ones hair is dry. These rollers are quite soft so one can even keep them on while sleeping.

Magnetic rollers: Magnetic rollers help in adding smooth curls and volume. These rollers can be used to set wet hair and they offer long lasting curl.

Hot rollers and steamrollers: These rollers are available in a variety of diameters and are used on dry hair and help in minimizing frizz. Both these rollers are less damaging to hair than irons. Hot rollers are faster to use whereas one has to wait for steam rollers to dry before taking them out. Steam rollers are the gentlest way to get soft and fuller curls.

Flexi rollers : These rollers are also known hair twirlers. Flexi rollers are long, flexible cushioned rods specially designed to create spiral curls without using of pins or clips.

How to use rollers

First one should wash their hair and then separate them into sections using a wide comb.

After sectioning the hair spray the base of each section of hair before inserting the roller.

When the hair becomes damp pile the heated rollers on top of the head and use clippers to secure the rollers.

After the rollers are secured neatly apply heat for a few minutes after which one should allow the rollers to cool.

Lastly gently run the fingers through the hair and shake out the curls and finish with a blast of hair spray to keep the waves shiny and sexy.

Tips

The curls should never look crisp.

One should not put too much hair in one roller.

One should always use styling products so that curls are nice and smooth.

Make sure one chooses a hydrating shampoo as it puts moisture back into the curls making them soft and manageable.

The curls should never be washed every day.

One should never brush the curls or leave them to hang naturally. Also make sure that one should touch them as little as possible.

Rollers are a great way to achieve beautiful curls. Curls are in fashion these days and using rollers is the easiest method to do so. Rollers as a hairstyling tool is something very important and one should always keep a set of rollers handy at home to fashion those beautiful curls whenever one wants to.
