Normal Hair for a gorgeous head

Hair is the most significant feature of any individual. It adds to an individual’s personality and looks and is an important indicator of beauty and health. Everybody wants to have a well nourished and gorgeous mane that highlights your features and enhances your personality. Hair has the capability of creating an illusion of width or height to suit the shape of your face. There are various types of hair varying from individual to individual that can be classified as normal, dry, greasy or combination hair.

Normal hair is considered to be the best type of hair. It has a healthy natural bounce and shine, is well balanced and does not dry out. In order to maintain this type of hair, a well balanced diet and adequate amount of rest is recommended along with proper care.

Characteristics of Normal Hair:

This type of hair is neither greasy nor dry and has not been exposed to any type of colorants, has not been artificially permed or crimped and has its own unique style. It is easy to manage and style. It requires regular shampooing for the removal of dirt, grime, grease and pollution and responds well to regular brushing, combing and styling.

Care for Normal Hair:

Brushing: This forms an integral part of your hair care program. It is recommended that you brush your hair from the hairline. Your hair benefits from upward brushing and not downwards strokes. Begin by combing the hair to free it from knots and tangles. Brush your hair with a lifting motion of your head. While brushing the sides of your head, the movement should be upwards and outwards. Constant brushing stimulates the blood circulation of the scalp and helps to distribute the natural oils to the hair ends. It also helps to retain, stimulate and replace natural oils. Regular brushing is one of the vital factors that helps achieve lustrous hair growth.

Massage: Essential oils are great for various hair types. A good scalp massage leads to the growth of a healthy, strong and shining hair. It helps in increasing the flow of blood to the head, improves circulation and helps fight split ends. There are two types of scalp massages — rubber scalp massage and finger massage.

A rubber scalp massager has a small circular pad with rubber needles protruding out and a handle. Using this massager enables you to massage your scalp without harming the sensitive tissues of the head. A finger massage can be done by using the pads of your finger tips in small circular movements in back or forth motion.

Oiling: Oil nourishes the roots and gives a shiny, healthy look to hair. It is essential to oil all types of hair on a regular basis. Dry, colored, permed or brittle hair benefits best from the application of oil. You can choose from a variety of oils such as almond oil, coconut oil, olive oil and aloe oil.

Shampoo: This is the ideal way to remove dirt and grime from your hair. It also cleans your scalp from all the gels, oils and pollution. You must shampoo your hair as often as needed. You might have to try out a couple of shampoos in order to determine which one is best suited to your hair type. An ideal shampoo does not cause drying of your scalp or stimulate a greasy scalp.

Conditioning: This adds brilliance to all types of hair and is necessary in order to get a luminous mane. Conditioning is essential at least thrice a week in order to maintain the oil and natural balance. Conditioners bring out the beauty and gleam of natural hair and strengthen it.

If your hair is normal in texture you are extremely lucky. But this does not mean that it cannot be damaged. It is essential for you to take good care of it in order it maintain it and keep it healthy and bouncing for long. Each strand of hair is made up of Keratin and receives nourishment through the hair follicles that rely on the nutrient quotient from the blood supply under the skin. Regular exercise, intake of a well balanced diet and proper rest enables you to maintain great hair.
